We are delighted to announce our latest deal for Malissa Jones – she appears over two pages in a weight special in CHAT magazine.
Weighing 34st Malissa was once Britain’s fattest teen. She first came to Featureworld to sell her story when she was slim. Having had a gastric bypass, she’d lost all the weight and was a success story. We placed her story in a national newspaper.
But unfortunately she continued to lose weight and became anorexic. At one point, she was so ill, she was given just months to live. Luckily she managed to force herself to eat and with the help of husband, Chris – they recently married – she is back to a better weight.
However, due to the bypass Malissa, who has been desperate to start a family, has sadly experienced a number of miscarriages – including losing baby son Harry, who died shortly after birth.
We have followed her story since 2008 and Malissa has built up a following of people interested in how she is. Her story has appeared in a vast number of publications both in the UK and all over the world. She has also been on TV – most notably ITV This Morning in the UK – but all over the world from Germany and France to the US.
One of the most satisfying outcomes of selling a story for an interviewee is when they want their story placed again! In fact we can’t remember the last time an interviewee did a story and did not want it placed again – which we feel goes to show how happy people really are with their stories in magazines and newspapers!
