AngryBritain.com writes for Sell Your Story UK …

Apart from coming to Featureworld and selling your story to the press, what else can you do if you have a gripe? Well, you could always get it off your chest contacting AngryBritain.com. Here, its owner, The AngryMan, tells Sell Your Story UK why he started it and how it’s proved more successful than even he could ever imagine… Angry Britain

‘It began in an expensive London bar, drunk and full of booze, with my friends and I putting the world to rights. How had warm flat beer become £4 a pint? Why had petrol topped £1 a litre?
It occurred to me that in that soulless chain bar that we probably weren’t the only ones asking these questions while wondering whether or not we could afford another round but despite this, who really was listening? We were all just quietly disgruntled voices across the land failing to be heard.
But the following morning, with a stinking hangover I bought the domain name, and went back to bed.

A few months later the site began to come together, complete strangers were sending in their experiences with companies they’d had poor customer service from, and with the daily grind in general. Word had started to spread. Then out of the blue my phone rang. ‘Hello, this is Radio 5 Live, we love your website and we’d like you to come on the Steven Nolan show and talk about what’s annoying Britain today’

And really, the last 18 months have gone by in a bit of a blur, AngryBritain.com has grown in size, audience and influence thanks mostly to our huge Twitter presence. We have almost 20,000 followers – and are still growing –  which in Twitter terms is not to be sniffed at. When we shout now, companies tend to listen. We’ve taken on the big boys, and won by making it very clear that poor customer service isn’t ok.

While the website adheres to a strict set of rules for submissions, the Twitter feed is a free-for-all, a more light-hearted look at life in Britain today. We tear apart the news, TV programs and make social observations, very little is off-limits and we’ll mostly say exactly what you’re already thinking.

It’s been a riot really, we’ve made some excellent friends in very influential places over the last two years and there are some very exciting things in the pipeline for the future but, we can only really succeed with your help.

AngryBritain.com was created for the public. The place where people can get whatever they like off  their chests. With two years hard work behind us we now know people are watching, listening, and maybe quietly changing things behind the scenes thanks to all of our tweets, emails, and letters…

It seems that just like The Hulk, people don’t like us when we’re angry…”
