With the rise in sales of ‘mummy porn’ book Fifty Shades of Grey – coupled with growing concerns that porn is so easily accessed on the internet – one author has published a book examining its rise…
Written by veteran therapist Wilma Davidson, The Porn Plague gives an honest and frank insight into both the adult entertainment industry and the risks that children and teenagers face, around the world.
“I wrote the book to be used as a weapon against hardcore pornography” Davidson explains.
She continues, “It’s a deathly honest account of the possible damage to the emotional, physical and mental health of teenagers, linked to regularly viewing pornography.”
The book’s chapters prove that The Porn Plague holds back no information at the expense of the health of the world’s young people. An expansive range of topics are covered including warning signs, addiction and the damage to brain chemicals, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, anal bleaching, genital surgery, the Brazilian Wax, abortion, hormone disruption, texting porn, prostitution, trafficking and gang rape.
“The ever growing flood of pornography is certainly not good for the sexual health of many teenage boys and girls who are at an impressionable age and are a significant section of the future adult population. Steps must be taken to ensure tomorrow’s adult population do not become addicted to pornography so that it influences their feelings, thinking or reasoning and take the edge off their ability to make correct decisions” Davidson adds.
The book is poised to become a saving grace to parents who may be worried about the dangers their children face, as well as those who are already noticing the early warning signs of pornography addiction and the harmful side effects it is causing.
The release of The Porn Plague comes at a time when the adult industry is experiencing rapid expansion. With demand driven by scores of young people who often view adult material while underage, could the industry be playing into the hands of the world’s youth and exacerbating the problem?
“It is certainly not easy being a parent today as most children are so much more computer literate than parents. They seem to have a natural ability to keep up with the fast moving technology, so are constantly at least one jump ahead of everyone else. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’’t think the porn industry it trying to use this to their advantage” Davidson concludes.
