Have you used a sperm donor? I am a producer with BBC Radio Scotland and I am making a five part series about Middle age presented by Claire English. Each programme is 28 mins long and will feature one person and one focus per episode. We are looking to explore the reflections people start to make about their life around the age 40 +. For some its changing their career and doing something completely different. For others it can be the age when most marriages breakdown, so I’ll be exploring dating after divorce and re-marrying. It’s also an age when we start losing our parents and that can make people reflect on what’s important in life and whether they are really living a life they are happy with. But one of the areas I would like to cover and the reason I’m contacting you is because I would like to interview a woman of 38+ who has not met her ‘Mr Right’ but wants to have children and has turned to sperm donation. I wondered if you would know of anyone who would be willing to have an initial chat with me with the view to sharing their story in the radio series. All contributors can be kept anonymous if they would prefer, we can just call them by a different name. Ideally it would be great to have a Scottish contributor but it’s not essential and would love to hear form anyone living in the UK. I am recording from now until the 31st Oct and would require the contributor an hour of their time for the interview. For anyone initially interested, I would first call them and take detailed notes of their story, this will also give the contributor an idea of the line of questioning for the interview so they are fully briefed beforehand. For more information please do not hesitate to call me, Suzy, on 01463 720747
