Top celebrity names have joined the unique 12ft high fuchsia pink stiletto on its tour of Cheltenham and the surrounding areas to promote the upcoming fashion event. Fashion designer George Davies, Loose Women and The Bill star Lisa Maxwell, and Embarrassing Bodies TV Doctor Dawn Porter are the latest to be photographed with the stiletto, alongside Nick Wood and Andy Hazell of Gloucester Rugby Club.

The Giant Shoe is touring the Cotswolds up until Cheltenham Fashion Week, set to take place from 17 – 21 September. The tour launched at Art Couture Painswick, where it first met Dr. Dawn Porter, after which it went on to visit Lisa’s sleepy Stroud village where she posed on the village green alongside The Giant Shoe.

Emblazoned with the Cheltenham Fashion Week logo, The Giant Shoe has so far appeared at iconic Cotswold locations including Cheltenham Racecourse, business hub Eagle Tower, Mercedes-Benz of Cheltenham, The Brewery, Gloucester Rugby Club and The Regent Arcade.

George Davies, the designer behind Marks & Spencer label Per Una, George at Asda and Next, is co-sponsoring and judging the Cheltenham Fashion Week Student Education Show. The catwalk show will stage designs from students at primary, secondary and tertiary level and will take place at Gloucestershire College on Tuesday 18 September. Joining George on the judging panel will be Nell Gifford of Gifford Circus and celebrity hairstylist Stuart Holmes.

Lisa Maxwell said: “I think the shoe is fantastic! It’s so fun and attention-grabbing and a great way to promote Cheltenham Fashion Week. I was delighted to be involved with its tour of The Cotswolds when it came to visit Stroud. All of the events sound great and I look forward to attending them when the Fashion Week comes around.”

The Giant Shoe has been touring Cheltenham and the surrounding areas gradually circulating the word and creating a buzz around the fast approaching Cheltenham Fashion Week. The Giant Shoe Tour embodies the fun, creative and fashionable aspects of Cheltenham Fashion Week, and brings all these qualities and more to Cheltenham’s residents as it appears at some of Cheltenham’s most popular locations.

Sam Bawden, Creative Director of Cheltenham Fashion Week, said: “The shoe is phenomenal! It is a real eye catcher. The Giant Shoe is creating a really magical atmosphere around Cheltenham Fashion Week as it appears, disappears and reappears in different locations. We are hoping that as people see The Giant Shoe in and around Cheltenham a whirl wind of Tweets and Facebook posts will follow.”
